Amos Coulanges, born in 1995 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, is a distignuished classical guitarist and composer known for blending traditional European styles with Caribbean and Haitian influences. He started his musical journey as a self taught guitarist, then went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Ottawa and a Master’s degree from Sorbonne in Paris.

Coulanges was awarded the First Prize at the 7th Carrefour Mondial de la Guitare in Martinique. This was given to him by Leo Brouwer, a particularly important composer in the classical guitar world. He further honed his skills under the guidance of Javier Quevedo at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris and the Saint-Germain-en-Laye conservatory.

His diverse repertoire includes compositions for guitar and flute, mixed voice choirs, and film soundtracks. In addition to his performance career, Coulanges is an esteemed educator who teaches music education and choral repertoire in Paris.
